Hochschule für Wirtschaft (HSW) Luzern: Highlighting PGP encryption in a post-graduate information security program

The University of Economics in Lucerne, Switzerland (known as HSW Luzern), will feature PGP® Desktop Email, based on the PGP® Encryption Platform, as a key component in a post-graduate program on computer technology and information security. Students who complete the course earn a Master of Advanced Studies in Information Security.
"Data security breaches are significant liabilities for companies, damaging brands and angering consumers on an almost daily basis," said Research Associate Armand Portmann from the University of Economics, Lucerne. "Encryption must be included in a comprehensive study of information security, and our students must be knowledgeable about current information security strategies and proven solutions available today. We're highlighting PGP® encryption technology in our program because it has been used for more than a decade and is considered a global de facto standard for encryption."
The PGP Encryption Platform reduces the complexities of protecting business data by enabling organizations to deploy and manage multiple encryption applications cost-effectively from a single management console. Deployed with the first encryption application, the PGP Encryption Platform makes installing a separate or additional infrastructure unnecessary when the organization needs other encryption applications. The PGP Encryption Platform supports the broadest range of integrated applications to secure email, laptops, desktops, instant messaging (IM), PDAs, network storage, FTP or bulk data transfers, and backups.
