The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium [known as (ISC)²] needed a way to secure email commmunications to its more than 45,000 certified members worldwide. Because its members use a variety of email solutions, (ISC)² wanted a standards-based product to ensure interoperability and simplify deployment.
(ISC)² has standardized on the PGP® Encryption Platform. The consortium is using PGP Universal™ Gateway Email for email encryption and PGP® Desktop Email for digital signatures on email communications, helping ensure secure email communications from (ISC)² to its members.
“(ISC)² is committed to information security best practices,” commented Stephen Doukas, chief operating officer for (ISC)². “Our members expect secure communications from (ISC)². We are pleased to offer them the functionality they demand and the peace of mind secure communications provide.”
“Security professionals around the world benefit from knowing that messages from (ISC)² are authentic and secure,” said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation. “Having one of the most well-respected security organizations use PGP encryption technology reflects growing recognition of the strength of our solutions.”
PGP Universal Gateway Email. PGP Universal Gateway Email automatically secures confidential email with PGP encryption and digital signatures at the gateway, based on centrally defined policy. The encryption is completely transparent to the user, and email is automatically encrypted to match recipients' encryption capabilities.
PGP Desktop Email. PGP Desktop Email provides enterprises with an automated, transparent set of encryption solutions to consistently secure confidential information in email sent from desktops and laptops.
The PGP Encryption Platform. Based on a unified key management and policy infrastructure, the PGP Encryption Platform offers the broadest set of integrated applications for enterprise data security. The platform enables organizations to meet current needs and expand as security requirements evolve for email, laptops, desktops, instant messaging, PDAs, FTP, bulk data transfers, backups, and shared files on network storage. By implementing the PGP Encryption Platform, organizations can reduce security infrastructure complexity, lower maintenance costs, and realize a strong return on investment.
(ISC)² is the non-profit global leader in educating and certifying information security professionals throughout their careers. Since (ISC)²’s inception in 1989, it has certified information security professionals from government agencies and companies throughout the world. Several (ISC)² credentials meet the stringent requirements of ANSI/ISO/IEC Standard 17024, a global benchmark for assessing and certifying security professionals. |
