Max Hopper, Chairman of the Board
Mr. Hopper’s career has included a 20-year tenure with AMR Corporation (American Airlines), where as Senior Vice President, CIO, and CEO & Chairman of AMR’s SABRE Group, he helped pioneer the delivery of electronic commerce and information services to the travel industry. He also served as Executive Vice President and CIO at Bank of America, and has held executive positions at Shell Oil, EDS, and United Airlines. Mr. Hopper is the recipient of numerous awards related to advancing information technology.
Phillip Dunkelberger, President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Dunkelberger has extensive technology and security industry expertise. He served as CEO of PGP Inc., the original PGP software startup, and as Vice President of Sales at Symantec Corporation. Most recently, Mr. Dunkelberger served as Entrepreneur-In-Residence at DCM. He also served as President and CEO of Embark, a Web-based recruitment and admissions software company, and as President and COO of Vantive Corporation, a vendor of enterprise customer relationship management (CRM) software products. He serves on Project Arena's Advisory Board and TechNet's CEO Cybersecurity Task Force. Mr. Dunkelberger has a B.A. in Political Science from Westmont College.
Alex Doll, Chief Financial Officer & Vice President Business Development
A co-founder of PGP Corporation, Mr. Doll is responsible for managing the company"s finance, corporate development, alliances, and new market investment and partnering programs. Before helping found PGP Corporation in 2002, Mr. Doll was Senior Vice President of Sales, Business Development, and Support at Embark, a Web-based recruitment and admissions software company. Previously, he was involved in the strategic planning and execution of corporate partnering and investment programs for PeopleSoft Inc., and he held various positions in the financial services industry in Silicon Valley, including the Investment Banking group at Robertson, Stephens & Co. and Technology Research at Dresdner RCM Capital Management. Mr. Doll has a B.S. in Telecom Systems Engineering and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Carl Amdahl, DCM
Mr. Amdahl is a General Partner with DCM, a venture capital firm committed to funding early-stage technology companies. With a focus on systems, software, and components, Mr. Amdahl works with portfolio companies to optimize technology development strategies, create strong management teams, and build strategic partnerships. He has 25 years of experience as a senior executive in the IT industry. During this period, he was a founder of three publicly traded companies and actively participated in raising more than $300 million in private and public funding. His technical background is broad, encompassing systems architecture, networking, semiconductors, and software. He is also a prolific inventor and is named on 23 issued United States patents.
Howard A. Bain III, Consultant & Certified Financial Expert
Mr. Bain is an independent consultant with expertise in all aspects areas of corporate finance, operations, internal control systems for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and public company financial and accounting issues. Mr. Bain has served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or senior financial executive of five public software/IT companies during more than three decades in Silicon Valley. He was most recently CFO of Portal Software, a developer of customer revenue management software for communications and content service providers, from 2001-2004. Prior to joining Portal, Mr. Bain held CFO positions at Vicinity Corporation in 2000, Informix from 1999-2000, and Symantec Corporation from 1991-1999. He has also held senior financial and accounting management positions with Fairchild Camera & Instrument Corporation and as a consultant with Arthur Andersen LLP, where he was a certified public accountant. Mr. Bain currently serves on the board of Learning Tree International, a provider of instructor-led, hands-on courses and certification programs for technology professionals and managers in business and government organizations. He holds a B.S. in Business from California Polytechnic University. Mr. Bain currently qualifies as an independent director and certified financial expert under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
Rhonda MacLean, Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Barclays PLC
Prior to joining Barclays, Ms. MacLean founded a successful risk management consulting firm, MacLean Risk Partners. Before that, she led Bank of America’s Corporate Global Information Security Group, where she oversaw security policy development, cyber investigations, computer forensics, and other related areas. Prior to that position, she was responsible for information security at The Boeing Company. Ms. MacLean was appointed the first chairperson of the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council for Critical Infrastructure Protection and Homeland Security. In addition to continuing to serve as chairperson emeritus of the Council, she sits on the Global Council of CSOs—composed of computer security thought leaders from the public, private and academic sectors—and holds the title of Distinguished Senior Fellow from Carnegie Mellon University’s CyLab. The Executive Women’s Forum in 2003 named Ms. MacLean one of five “Women of Vision” shaping the information security industry; twice she has been named one of the 50 most powerful people in computer networking by Network World.
Ray Rothrock, Venrock
Mr. Rothrock is a managing general partner at Venrock, where he focuses on information technology in general and Internet companies in particular. He currently serves on the boards of Arzoon Inc., Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., NanoGram Devices Corp., NeoPhotonics Corp., P-Cube Inc., Pedestal Software Inc., Qpass Inc., Space.com, SteelEye Technology Inc., and Whole Security Inc. Previously, he served on the boards of DIGEX Inc. (acquired by Intermedia Communications), Haystack Labs (acquired by Trusted Information Systems/Network Associates), and Spyglass. He also led Venrock's investment in DoubleClick. He is presently on the board of The Texas A&M Foundation, the Department of Nuclear Engineering Visiting Committee of MIT, and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Woodside Priory School. Mr. Rothrock has a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University, an S.M. in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. with Distinction from the Harvard Business School.
André Turenne, D. E. Shaw & Co.
Mr. Turenne is a senior vice president of D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. and an executive of the D.E. Shaw group’s venture capital unit. Mr. Turenne has more than 25 years of operating, technical, and venture investment experience in the technology sector. Prior to joining the D. E. Shaw group in 2006, Mr. Turenne was a managing director of NeoCarta Ventures, Inc., a venture capital investment firm. From 1996 to 2000, he served as senior manager of strategic investments at Intel Capital, the venture capital unit of Intel Corporation. Before beginning his more than ten years of venture capital experience, Mr. Turenne also spent five years at Intel Corporation in various technical, marketing, and sales management roles. Prior to working at Intel, Mr. Turenne spent six years in various engineering and engineering management positions at Photocircuits Corporation, a leading producer of printed circuit boards. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Altierre Corp.; eMotive Communications, Inc.; Meru Networks; PanTerra Networks; PGP Corporation; Reactrix Systems, Inc.; and Winery Exchange, Inc. Mr. Turenne received his B.S. in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his M.B.A. from Northeastern University, where he was recognized as valedictorian of his class. |
