Media Release: ISSA Selects PGP Universal

PGP CORPORATION ANNOUNCES THAT THE INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY ASSOCIATION (ISSA) HAS SELECTED PGP UNIVERSAL

Global 10,000-member security association's secure messaging and digital signatures to be provided by award-winning enterprise messaging solution

Palo Alto, CA/23 June, 2004 - PGP Corporation, a global leader in digital information security, today announced that the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)® is deploying PGP® Universal to communicate with its 10,000-plus members worldwide. This preeminent group of security professionals will now be able to ensure end-to-end security across its global membership in 83 chapters in nearly 100 countries.

PGP Universal will provide automatic, two-way secure messaging plus digital signatures on official ISSA email communications to members. The primary goal of the ISSA is to promote practices that will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational information resources. In addition to playing a leading role in facilitating discussion on key issues such as the National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, the ISSA promotes interaction and education to create a more successful environment for global information systems security and for the professionals involved.

"We are delighted the ISSA has chosen to validate our innovative PGP Universal product line," said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO, PGP Corporation. "Now, ISSA security professionals will have the experience of using a pervasive secure-messaging and digital-signature solution for all their communications. We believe having the largest group of information security practitioners in the world using PGP Universal represents a key milestone in PGP Universal's global adoption."

"As security professionals, most of us have a long-standing association with PGP secure-messaging solutions and welcome the addition of PGP Universal," said David Cullinane, CPP, CISSP, and president of the ISSA. "Installing this scalable, automatic, user-transparent email security and digital-signature solution will give us greater flexibility in securing communications to our 10,000-plus global constituents-regardless of the email solution they've adopted."

PGP Universal
PGP Universal provides practical, wide-scale deployment of secure messaging. By moving email encryption responsibility away from users to the network, encryption, decryption, and digital signatures are automatic and user-transparent. Messages are encrypted to individual keypairs and secured even when recipients have no keys. PGP Universal can quickly and cost-effectively secure up to 100% of an enterprise's users-both inside and outside the organization. PGP Universal Server supports both OpenPGP and X.509 + S/MIME standards and delivers low-cost deployment through its self-deploying, proxy-based architecture. Keys are created dynamically, allowing IT control over bidirectional policy enforcement.
