PGP Desktop Trial Software (Client Only)
If you are protecting individuals or groups of fewer than 25 seats, PGP Desktop products without management tools may be right for you.
The PGP Desktop Trial allows you to try all the applications that are part of the PGP Desktop product for 30 days; Support is not included with this trial.
Who is eligible?
Customers wanting to evaluate PGP Desktop product capabilities. Customers agree to download this trial version one time only; multiple downloads are prohibited.
What is included?
You will receive an electronic download of the PGP Desktop Trial product, which will operate with full capabilities for 30 days.

What is the process?
Agree to the license agreement at the bottom of this page, then complete a PGP Desktop Trial request form. You will receive an email with a download link for your trial software.

Are there any license limitations?
- The PGP Desktop Trial software will cease full functionality thirty (30) days following your installation. Upon expiration, you will no longer be able to automatically encrypt email, files/folders and IM messages unless you purchase the full version of the product.
- PGP NetShare Trial
If you created one or more Protected Folders with a PGP NetShare you will not be able to create any new Protected Folders, use the files currently in any Protected Folders, add files to existing Protected Folders, or be added as an Authorized User for a new Protected Folder.
In order to regain access to the decrypted versions of any files in an existing Protected Folder, you must either obtain a new PGP NetShare license or decrypt the files/folders in your Protected Folders using the Remove <filename> from PGP NetShare command, available under the PGP Desktop menu, option by right mouse clicking on protected folders and files.
Is this trial instead of PGP Freeware?
PGP Desktop Trial is an improved version of the legacy PGP Freeware (PGP Desktop 8.x and below) product. You now receive all product functionality for 30 days before the product reverts to functionality available in former PGP Freeware.
What functionality continues after 30 days?
The following limited functionality (equivalent to prior versions of PGP Freeware) will continue after the initial 30-day period:
At the end of the trial period, any local disks that have been encrypted using PGP Whole Disk Encryption will automatically decrypt.
PGP file encryption and signing, PGP Zip, “Current Window”, and “Clipboard” functionality will continue to allow encryption, and you will still be able to use the decryption capabilities for all PGP Desktop Trial product functions, thus ensuring that any encrypted data remains accessible.
Are there any license limitations?
After the 30-day trial, the resulting functionality is licensed on a Perpetual basis solely for personal, non-commercial purposes. Any attempt to disable these limitations or modify the software is illegal and prohibited by law.
No Mirroring Permitted
No individual or organization is permitted to mirror or redistribute in any way—electronically or otherwise—the PGP Desktop Trial software. This site is the only PGP-sanctioned source for PGP software.
