Press Release: PGP Corporation Establishes New Office in France, Appoints Jean-Charles Barbou Sales Director for France and Southern Europe
Data and Email Encryption Solutions Provider Also Strengthens its Channel Presence in the French Market
Paris, France and Menlo Park, CA / 18 March, 2009 – PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data protection, today announced the establishment of its first office in France and the appointment of Jean-Charles Barbou as Sales Director for France and Southern Europe. Jean-Charles brings with him more than twenty years sales and business development experience in the fields of security, information systems and networks and telecoms. To augment its current channel relationship with Hermitage Solutions, PGP Corporation has also signed new channel agreements with Afina, a distributor primarily specialized in products and services for the Internet and Intranet, and Ipelium, an integrator focused on security and mobility solutions.
Before joining PGP Corporation, Jean-Charles held positions as Director for Southern Europe at Axent Technologies, an information security software company subsequently acquired by Symantec, and Niksun, a premier provider of solutions for monitoring network performance, security and policy compliance. He also spent a number of years at configuration control software vendor, Tripwire, as Director for Southern Europe.
In his capacity as Sales Director for France and Southern Europe, Jean-Charles will be responsible for driving PGP Corporation’s growth and market penetration in the region, as well as reinforcing the company’s partner programme to drive uptake for the industry-leading data and email encryption software.
“Since its inception, PGP Corporation has been at the forefront of encryption and data protection, seeking to anticipate and mitigate the new risks and threats organizations face,” said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation. “The multiplication of client devices, users’ increased mobility and the exponential growth in data volumes mean that the potential for data loss or leakage has never been higher. Organizations need to invest in technology that helps them protect their confidential information across the enterprise and beyond. PGP Corporation meets both of these requirements and we look forward to working with Jean-Charles and our local partners to bring our extensive email and data encryption expertise to the European markets.”
PGP Corporation’s standards-based encryption solutions enable organizations in both the public and private sector to protect and manage data throughout its lifecycle, from creation through archive: at rest, in use and in motion. PGP solutions safeguard sensitive and confidential information stored on a myriad of mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones and removable media such as USB drives. No other company offers such a complete, fully integrated and extensible solution which also reduces policy and key management thanks to a central administration platform.
To build on earlier successes and drive further demand in the French market, PGP Corporation has also signed channel agreements with Afina, a distributor primarily specialized in products and services for the Internet and Intranet, and Ipelium, an integrator focused on security and mobility solutions. These new partnerships will further strengthen PGP Corporation’s local market presence where the company has been strongly represented by Hermitage Solutions, a company that specializes in innovative security solutions.
“Organisations are becoming increasingly aware of the need to implement data protection solutions on an enterprise-wide level to protect them from the loss of confidential information, be it through human error or malicious intent,” continued Jean-Charles Barbou. “PGP Corporation is a true pioneer in this field and the leading organisation to offer a comprehensive and easily manageable encryption platform. I have no doubt that by working closely with our channel, we can continue to successfully build the company’s brand and business in the strategic, highly competitive France and Southern European markets in the months ahead.”
