Press Release: nuBridges and PGP Corporation Partner to Protect Transported Digital Information
nuBridges MFT Users Gain Option to Protect Files in Motion with PGP® Encryption Technology
Atlanta, GA and Menlo Park, CA / 27 October 2009 – nuBridges, the secure eBusiness authority, announced today that it has partnered with PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data protection, to provide nuBridges Exchange™ customers with PGP® encryption technology. Utilizing the PGP® Software Development Kit (SDK) from PGP Corporation, nuBridges has now integrated the award winning, trusted PGP® encryption technology into the nuBridges Exchange managed file transfer (MFT) and B2B gateway software solution.
nuBridges Exchange helps organizations safely share documents and files internally and with business partners, to monitor and manage the flow of information, and to meet governance and compliance requirements. To support the heterogeneous requirements of today’s extended enterprise, it supports multiple protocols including sFTP (SSH), FTPs (SSL), FTP with OpenPGP, HTTPs, and AS2; runs on Windows, Solaris, HP/UX, Linux and AS/400; and handles transfers to and from mainframe, midrange and workstation endpoints.
nuBridges integrated the cryptographic functionality from PGP Corporation into the nuBridges Exchange software as part of its mission to make it safer and easier for enterprises to share and protect sensitive information. Now, users can invoke PGP encryption functionality from a server or client machine before sending files via their transport protocol of choice. nuBridges chose the PGP® encryption technology because of its long-standing industry reputation; its wide range of field-tested and standards-based encryption, digital signature and encoding algorithms; and its support for a variety of secure network protocol implementations.
“nuBridges’ flexible MFT solutions offer the ability to easily select the most appropriate encryption protocols based on the enterprise’s unique environmental requirements and file types,” said Kyle Parris, nuBridges Director of Product Management. “Today’s announcement extends this flexibility, giving nuBridges Exchange customers more choice in selecting a high-quality open encryption solution best suited to their business needs.”
Customers using nuBridges Exchange software modules to conduct eBusiness among internal departments, divisions and subsidiaries as well as with customers, suppliers and business partners include Walmart, Amazon.com, Timberland, American Eagle Outfitters, Belk, Wachovia, Sun Trust, AIG, CheckFree and Verizon.
“The large quantities of eBusiness exchanges happening inside and outside organizational boundaries is growing exponentially,” said Karthik Krishnan, Senior Director of Product Management at PGP Corporation. “nuBridges’ addition of PGP® technology in their nuBridges Exchange managed file transfer solution provides customers with the best possible way to safeguard their digital information while it is being transported within the enterprise and outside the firewall.”
nuBridges Exchange 3.0 with the PGP® encryption technology is now available. nuBridges Exchange i for the IBM i platform (System i, iSeries, AS/400, AS400) will support PGP Corporation’s encryption technology in Q4 2009.
