Press Release: PGP Corporation Appoints New Technology Advisory Board and Business Advisory Board Members

Recognized Security Industry Veterans, Jon Callas, Will Price and Val Rahmani, Bring Wide-Ranging Experience in Data Protection

Menlo Park, CA / 15 December 2009 – PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data protection, today announced the appointment of three renowned security experts to the company’s Advisory Boards. Jon Callas, co-founder of PGP Corporation, long time pioneer of cryptography and the author of the original OpenPGP standard, and Will Price, one of the first PGP® Fellows and the architect of PGP Universal™ Server, PGP® Whole Disk Encryption and PGP® NetShare, have joined PGP Corporation’s Technical Advisory Board. Val Rahmani, CEO of Damballa and a longtime executive with IBM, has been named to PGP Corporation’s Business Advisory Board.

“PGP Corporation’s Advisory Boards are designed to bring together the smartest minds in the industry to ensure that the company remains the leader in data protection,” said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation. “With the addition of Jon, Will and Val, we are continuing to build our boards with the highest caliber of experts in our space. We could not be more proud.”

Prior to joining PGP Corporation’s Technology Advisory Board, Jon Callas was the Chief Technology Officer of PGP Corporation – he is also the co-founder of the company. Callas is credited in making PGP® software the world renowned security standard that it is today and weaving its technology into the fabric of the Internet. Joining Callas on the Technology Advisory Board is Will Price, also a co-founder of PGP Corporation and the founding Vice President of Engineering. Will's history and contributions with PGP Corporation started even before the formation of the original PGP Inc. Over the years, Price has led the design, engineering and transition of PGP® technology from a command line interface to a full GUI-based product line.

“It’s an honor to be awarded a position on PGP Corporation’s Technology Advisory Board,” said Jon Callas. “My relationship with PGP Corporation started many years ago with the founding of the company, and I envision staying involved in its continued innovation and market leading technological direction that defines the essence of the company and the encryption industry.”

“I am a big believer in PGP Corporation’s technology and have seen it positively help many organizations and people over the years,” said Will Price. I’m proud to say that I’ve been a part of the PGP Corporation family since the early days of its inception and I look forward to helping the company continue its long history of technology innovation.”

As the newest addition to the Business Advisory Board, Val Rahmani is the CEO of Damballa, an Internet security organization known for its innovative real-time approach to identifying and stopping botnets and related targeted attacks. Rahmani spent much of her career at IBM, where she developed extensive experience building and leading global enterprise hardware, software and services business units. Most recently she served as General Manager at Internet Security Systems after its acquisition by IBM.

“It’s a privilege to be able to lend my insight and experience to PGP Corporation as part of its Business Advisory Board,” commented Rahmani. “PGP Corporation is the gold standard for data encryption and enterprise key management and I look forward to helping advance its security solutions and overall business strategy.”
