Media Release: TEPR Conference Sponsorship

PGP CORPORATION ANNOUNCES SPONSORSHIP OF TEPR MEDICAL CONFERENCE AND "CONTINUITY OF CARE" INITIATIVE

PGP Desktop chosen to securely transmit and store confidential
patient data

Palo Alto, CA/19 May, 2004 – PGP Corporation, the industry leader in digital information security, today announced that it will co-sponsor a key initiative at the TEPR (Towards an Electronic Patient Record) Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Continuity of Care Record (CCR) initiative focuses on providing care givers complete and accurate care data so they can design a coordinated patient care plan. The CCR demonstration at TEPR will explore ways for health care providers to securely modify, store, and transmit the contents of a sample patient record using PGP® Desktop software.

"We are proud to join MedKey™ and SanDisk in sponsoring the CCR demonstration at the TEPR Conference," said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation. "Health care providers that are not part of integrated networks have traditionally been limited by reliance on paper records, the inability to exchange data between proprietary systems, and the lack of easy-to-use tools to capture relevant data. PGP Desktop will provide a way for these providers to secure confidential patient information in transit and at rest."

At the TEPR conference, PGP Corporation, MedKey, and SanDisk are combining to offer 2,000 attendees the ability to take a sample patient record, modify it at each health care provider's booth, and store it securely on a SanDisk USB Drive preloaded with PGP Desktop software. Attendees will be able to keep the PGP-secured SanDisk USB Drives at the end of the TEPR conference.

Jon Callas, CTO and CSO of PGP Corporation, will also participate in a TEPR panel on "The Future of Information Security," scheduled for May 21. The session will discuss future trends in information security as well as where technology and development are leading, with a view toward how these trends affect health care.
