PGP Corporation Announces that Catholic Charities has
Selected PGP Universal
Catholic Charities will use award-winning encryption solution to secure
email communications and help comply with regulations
Palo Alto, CA/02 March, 2006 – PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data security and encryption solutions, today announced that Catholic Charities has selected PGP Universal™ to secure electronic communications containing personal and confidential information. The latest version of PGP Universal features centralized key management and policy enforcement, internationalization for different character sets and encodings, German and Japanese language and localization, and centralized management of PGP® Desktop clients.
“Regulatory mandates and societal concerns about privacy and identity theft continue to pressure all types of organizations to secure confidential information in electronic communications,” said Bryta Schulz, director of product marketing for PGP Corporation. “We are pleased Catholic Charities chose PGP Universal to help comply with requirements for encrypting private data transmitted via email. This adoption shows PGP Universal"s practical application in a variety of production environments and validates the trust placed in our company and products.”
About PGP Universal
PGP Universal provides practical, wide-scale deployment of secure messaging. By moving email encryption responsibility away from users to the network, encryption, decryption, and digital signatures are automatic and user-transparent. Messages are encrypted to individual keypairs and secured even when recipients have no keys. PGP Universal can quickly and cost-effectively secure some, most, or all enterprise users--both inside and outside the organization. PGP Universal supports both OpenPGP and X.509 + S/MIME standards, securely sends to recipients without installed encryption solutions, provides two-way policy enforcement, and delivers low-cost deployment through its self-deploying, proxy-based architecture. PGP Universal can also be integrated with an MTA server to provide a complete enterprise email security solution that includes encryption, digital signatures, anti-virus, anti-spam, content filtering, and unified policy management. It is part of a suite of PGP encryption products that includes email, full and virtual disk, instant messaging (IM), and FTP/batch solutions.
