Media Release: PGP Corporation Completes 2006 with Record Financial Results

Broad Acceptance of PGP Encryption Platform Drives Record Number of Customer Transactions

Palo Alto, CA/05 February, 2007 – PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data security and encryption solutions, today announced record performance and results for 2006. For the period ending December 31, 2006, the company achieved a record quarter, record half-year, and its fifth consecutive year of record financial results.

Calendar 2006 saw broad, balanced adoption of the PGP® Encryption Platform around the world, with equal contributions from all PGP® applications, including gateway messaging, endpoint messaging encryption, and full disk encryption. In its first full fiscal year, PGP® Whole Disk Encryption, an award-winning full disk encryption solution, contributed approximately 25 percent of the company’s bookings. The company continued to achieve enterprise acceptance of the PGP Encryption Platform, with PGP products® now in use at 95 percent of the 2006 Fortune® 100 companies, 87 percent of Germany’s DAX index companies, and more than 80,000 enterprises, businesses, and governments worldwide. In addition, PGP Corporation enjoyed a record number of six- and seven-figure customer transactions during the year.

PGP Corporation also expanded its government presence by being listed on the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) contract through agreements with three leading PGP value-added resellers. Additionally, the company celebrated the 15th anniversary of Phil Zimmermann’s original PGP® encryption technology, and won the “Silicon Valley Emerging Company Award” as top security vendor from Silicon Valley Business Journal.

Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation, said, “2006 validated our vision of broadly deployed, easy-to-use encryption software. We had solid execution across our major geographies, and although we’re gratified by the reception to the PGP Encryption Platform, frankly, we’re thrilled with the overwhelming success of PGP Whole Disk Encryption. Industry-leading brands and enterprises of all sizes are selecting PGP solutions in record numbers to help them defend their data wherever it resides—across devices and at all points throughout the network. Customers recognize and crave the holistic approach to data protection that our technology delivers, and that validation keeps us focused on meeting our customers’ demanding requirements.”

Value of the PGP Encryption Platform Drives New Business
PGP Corporation saw expanding adoption of its technology across global enterprises. The company secured many of its largest deals in its 4-year history, including an agreement with a major enterprise software company to provide PGP® Support Package for BlackBerry®, which extends PGP messaging security to BlackBerry devices. The company celebrated a major win at a leading U.S. cable operator with PGP Whole Disk Encryption, which provides comprehensive disk encryption for securing all files on desktops, laptops, or removable media, and PGP® NetShare, which enables teams to secure, manage, and share encrypted network-based files. Also noteworthy was a milestone win at a global financial services company to provide PGP Whole Disk Encryption and PGP® Gateway Email, which ensures secure email communication with customers and partners as data enters and leaves the enterprise network.

The company also secured a host of new customers, including HSBC, one of the world’s largest banks; PHNS, an IT outsourcer for health care companies; and Engineering + Design AG (EDAG), a German automotive supplier; and the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium [(ISC)²®], among many others. All the customers recognize the value of the PGP Encryption Platform, which delivers rich key management, central policy enforcement, and recovery services via a set of integrated encryption applications for strong data defense.

In October 2006, the company delivered a major upgrade to the PGP Encryption Platform aimed at reducing IT operational costs, accelerating customer deployment times, and enabling customers to enforce consistent security policies. The company also delivered a localized version of its portfolio to the Japanese market. The PGP Encryption Platform and enabled applications secure email, laptops, desktops, instant messaging, PDAs, network storage, FTP and bulk data transfers, and backups, allowing organizations to reap best-in-class encryption in phases or as business requirements evolve. Already in 2007, PGP Whole Disk Encryption has won top billing as “Best Enterprise Solution” and “Best Buy” for full disk encryption in a group test conducted by SC Magazine, a bellwether publication for the security industry.

The PGP Professional Services Organization (PSO) made impressive strides in 2006. Major worldwide customers turned to PGP Corporation for strategic guidance not just in products, but for assistance in threat model and architectural assessments. The PSO team works with customers to rapidly deploy PGP® technology across their enterprises without disrupting their existing infrastructure. This partnership enables customers to proactively defend their data against today’s immediate problems while providing a long-term path to scalable, sustainable data protection.
